A big weekend is coming up for Carrollton (Texas) Newman Smith offensive tackle Nic Pozderac.

The talented offensive tackle prospect, whose father Phil Pozderac played for Notre Dame and later the Dallas Cowboys, will be visiting South Bend this weekend for the spring game. With Notre Dame still one top of the list, Pozderac says that a decision could come if an offer is extended.
"Notre Dame sent me a letter to invite me down and I accepted, got my plane ticket, and I'm going to head there with my mom," Pozderac said. "I've love to go there and of course I'd have to talk it over with my family first, but if an offer comes to me you could say that there will be a quick hand shake.
"I think I would probably decide right then and there."
In the meantime, the talented young man picked up his first offer from Houston. Pozderac says that though he doesn't know much about the in-state program, it's nice to have the offer in hand.
"It was really nice," he said. "I talked with my coach and it's early so there are a lot of factors to think about. This recruiting is tricky business. You don't want to decide too early, but then you're not sure if you know the right place."
Though the Irish are the leader, Stanford is another team entering the mix.
"They send me a lot of hand-written stuff and that's a school I'd really like to go to as well," he said. "I get motivational stuff and all kinds of interest from them. They seem really interested in me."
Pozderac and his Newman Smith team start spring practice this week.
"I'm excited," he said. "I'm ready to put the pads on instead of just doing everything without it."
