Power Five Conferences: Power rankings

Top class: In classic Stanford fashion, the Cardinal lead the way in the Pac-12 team rankings with nine four-star pledges and seven three-star commits out of 19 so far in the class. Efficiency is the name of the game. QB K.J. Costello, TE Kaden Smith (above) and OLB Curtis Robinson lead the way.
Bottom class: Colorado has the fewest commits in the conference (11) and only one four-star pledge in St. Petersburg (Fla.) Admiral Farragut Academy DB Craig Watts. The Buffaloes do have six three-star commits, but the total number of pledges is hurting them at this point.
Highlights: Arizona State has the lone five-star pledge in Chandler, Ariz., wide receiver N'Keal Harry and the Sun Devils have had success keeping in-state talent home. USC and Oregon each have eight four-star pledges and the out of the Trojans' 16 commits, 14 are three- or four-stars. The only team in the conference without a four-star pledge is Washington State.
Lowlights: No five-stars from the state of California are committed to Pac-12 schools -- at least not yet. Malik Henry is committed to FSU and Folsom's Jonah Williams is going to Alabama. Five-star LBs Mique Juarez and Caleb Kelly are still undecided. After the top five programs, only Washington has more than three four-stars in the class. The Huskies have five.
3. BIG TEN, 2.99
Top class: Ohio State has the lone five-star commit in the conference in Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas DE Nick Bosa (above). The Buckeyes also lead the Big Ten with 13 four-star pledges and currently sit second overall nationally in the team recruiting rankings.
Bottom class: Purdue is one of two teams in the Big Ten (along with Indiana) that has no four-star commits. The Boilermakers have eight pledges, six of them being three-stars, but that is the fewest number of commits for any team in the conference.
Highlights: The Big Ten is incredibly top heavy in the recruiting rankings led by Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Michigan State, respectively, which all are among the top 12 teams nationally in the team rankings. The Wolverines and Nittany Lions each have 10 four-star commitments. Nineteen of Wisconsin's 20 pledges are three-stars or better.
Lowlights: The West Division is not completely carrying its weight to keep pace with the East, which has the top four recruiting classes in the conference. Iowa, which remains undefeated, has no four-star commitments. Northwestern and Illinois have one apiece. Wisconsin, Nebraska and Minnesota have three each but that trails the East Division leaders by a wide margin.
4. ACC, 2.96
Top class: Florida State is the only school in the conference with a five-star commitment and the Seminoles have two of them in Henry from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly and Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes CB Levonta Taylor (above). The Seminoles' class ranks third nationally.
Bottom class: Georgia Tech is having a disappointing season with a 3-6 record, 1-5 in the ACC and the Yellow Jackets are struggling in recruiting as well. Coach Paul Johnson's club has 10 commits (eight are three-stars) and finds itself at the bottom of the ACC standings with 705 points.
Highlights: The Seminoles have a substantial lead in the conference rankings but North Carolina's fantastic season has helped the Tar Heels' recruiting efforts and they're now second in the conference with five four-star pledges and 14 three-star commits. With an average star rating of 3.58, Clemson should move up with more commits and eight of their 12 pledges are four-stars.
Lowlights: Five ACC teams (Virginia, Wake Forest, NC State, Syracuse and Georgia Tech) have no four-star commitments yet. Three others (Virginia Tech, Boston College and Pittsburgh) only have one each. Less than half the teams in the ACC have an average star rating of three or better.
5. BIG 12, 2.86
Top class: Baylor has moved to the top of the Big 12 rankings even without a five-star commitment but four-star OL Patrick Hudson leads the way. The Bears have three other four-star pledges, including RB Kameron Martin (above), all on the offensive side of the ball and that leads the conference.
Bottom class: Iowa State has 11 pledges in the class but only four are three-stars. The Cyclones' average-star rating is just 2.4, the lowest in the conference and they're only one of three teams without a four-star pledge in their class.
Highlights: No Big 12 team is especially crushing it in recruiting yet this cycle but a big month of games coming up between the conference's top schools could spark more interest. TCU, Oklahoma and Texas all have three four-star pledges and Texas Tech and West Virginia are also toward the top of the conference rankings.
Lowlights: Oklahoma State is still undefeated but is only one of three teams in the Big 12 along with Kansas and Iowa State that doesn't have a four-star pledge. That could very well change once the staff focuses more on recruiting in January. Texas only has nine pledges, although a small class is expected; Oklahoma has just 11. Only four teams have an average-star rating of three or better.
