Powell will take a visit this weekend

Chesapeake (Va.) Great Bridge wide receiver Carvin Powell helped his team to a season opening 34-12 victory last Friday. As the recruiting season begins to heat up, are schools close to offering?
"I haven't talked to any coaches yet," he said. "A lot of teams are talking to my coach and they all like me and want to see how I play this fall to solidify what position I could play in college."

Currently Powell holds offers from East Carolina, Ball State and Army. The two-star prospect plans to take one unofficial visit this weekend.
"I'm headed down to East Carolina for their game versus West Virginia," he said. "I'm going to watch both teams. I want to see the positions I might play and how the offenses and defenses are run."
Plenty of other schools are showing interest in the 6-foot-2, 199-pounder too.
"I'm hearing from NC State, North Carolina, Marshall, Virginia, Maryland, Penn State and Clemson."
Meanwhile, Powell had a big game to open his senior season.
"I had four catches and a touchdown, I also had eight tackles on defense," he said. "Our team played very well.
"I think the speed training and weight lifting helped improve my physical attributes and made me faster. I just want to continue to work on my speed and improve that more this season."
