Powe has Big Ten favorite

Darius Powe has a bunch of offers but it's one Big Ten school that hasn't shown him much interest yet that he likes more than all the others.
The Lakewood, Calif., wide receiver said Sunday at the Los Angeles NIKE Camp that Ohio State has been a favorite of his for a long time and that he'd like to hear more from the Buckeyes' coaching staff.

"That's where I want to go," Powe said.
"I like the way they throw the ball to their receivers and I think they have a nice program. I've always been a big fan ever since I was little. I'm trying to make it happen."
Stanford and Washington are the latest offers for Powe, who also has Arizona, Cal, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon and UCLA on his offer list.
He said some SEC schools are also showing interest so he'd like to take some unofficial visits to figure out what he likes best. Auburn and Tennessee are two SEC programs standing out.
"I'm still in the early stages," Powe said. "I'm just trying to see everywhere and I want some time to figure out what I want to do.
"I'm still trying to see if I want to go to the SEC, that's why I want to take some visits down there to see what it's like. I like the Pac-10 because it's close."
Powe doesn't have many spring visits scheduled yet but the 6-foot-2, 186-pound recruit said he hopes to take some trips over the next couple months. Going to Washington is being considered along with some other Pac-10 trips and he'd also like to see some SEC schools.
After taking some trips, Powe said he should have a much better idea on his recruitment and which programs really stand out.
"After I take some visits I'll have a better idea and I can make up my mind," he said.
In his junior season, Powe finished with 43 receptions for 822 yards and six touchdowns.
