Potts is ready to battle for a spot

In the beginning, Texas Tech quarterback commit Taylor Potts thought he'd be the only quarterback taken in the Red Raiders class, but he was then joined by Southlake (Texas) Carroll gunslinger Greg McElroy.
Talk surfaced that Potts was unhappy with the decision and that he was hoping he'd be the only one. Today, he says he's still solid with the Red Raiders and says it's not that big of a deal.

"It was kind of blown out of proportion," Potts said. "I mean, I would have liked to be the only QB in the class, but it's no up to me. I'm fine with that."
Does that mean that Potts is not looking around?
"I'm always keeping an eye on if any other schools take an interest in me, but no one has offered or anything," Potts said. "I'm just making sure Tech is the right place and that's where I'm at right now. I'm solid though for Texas Tech."
Potts says that while he keeps other schools in the back of his mind, he's looking forward to competing at Texas Tech.
"Of course, you get close to Signing Day and there are going to be some natural worries like anybody has, but it's not about me competing with another quarterback," Potts said. "I'm ready to go on that aspect. I'm just getting nervous because it's a big step to the next level."
