Poteat preparing to visit Pitt

Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt running back Jameel Poteat has burst onto the recruiting scene as a prospect that schools across the country will be keeping an eye on.
No doubt, schools such as Florida and Southern Cal have the 5-foot-11, 195-pound running back's attention.

Poteat has said he wants to try to attend Florida's spring game and he told Rivals.com that he will "definitely" be visiting Southern Cal in the summer. When those programs call, you listen.
That said, a school close to home that Poteat is very familiar with will get a serious look throughout the recruiting process.
"I'm going to Pitt tomorrow morning," Poteat said on Friday. "I was talking with my father and we've decided we're going to go tomorrow and get a campus tour.
"I've been talking to them (Pitt) for a long time. You know, here (at Bishop McDevitt) we've got a lot of guys that go to Pitt, so I've had a relationship with them since my freshman year.
"They offered me during my sophomore year. They were the first school to offer me."
Hank Poteat, Jameel's cousin, is a cornerback for the Cleveland Browns and he spent his college years at Pitt. Will all those ties to the Panthers' program be a big factor in their favor?
"Yeah, it's real big," Poteat confirmed. "That's what I'm looking for in a school -- the coaches and having a good relationship with the players. That's helping out a lot."
In addition to trips to Florida and USC that have not been ironed out yet Poteat said he will probably be at Rutgers on April 15th.
