Penn State commit Miles Sanders took home RB MVP honors at the Rivals Camp Series in
Cleveland.
CLEVELAND -- The Rivals Camp Series Presented by
Under Armour rolled into Cleveland on Sunday for a stop at
Fairview High School. With nearly 200 participants from across the Midwest,
the competition was tight, with plenty of players turning in impressive
performances.
The series of drills and one-on-one competitions revealed the best players, and
there were plenty of notable performances.
Overall there were seven players who earned MVP honors at their respective
positions. They were Michigan State commit and Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne
quarterback Messiah deWeaver (quarterback), Penn State commit and Pittsburgh
(Pa.) Woodland Hills running back Miles Sanders (running back), class of 2017
Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech wide receiver Donovan
Peoples-Jones (wide receiver/tight end), three-star Urbandale, Iowa
offensive guard Jake Heinrich (offensive line), class of 2017 Walled Lake
(Mich.) Western defensive tackle Bryce Brand (defensive line), USC commit
and Ann Arbor (Mich.) Skyline linebacker Daelin Hayes (linebacker) and Penn
State and Detroit (Mich.) Martin Luther King cornerback Lavert Hill (defensive
back).
With so much talent on hand there were also three prospects who were invited to
participate in the Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour, which will be
held at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore in June.
They were Hayes, Sanders and Detroit (Mich.) Martin Luther King wide receiver
The Rivals Camp Series rolls on next week, with a stop
in St. Louis set for Sunday, May 3.
Camp Awards
Donovan Peoples-Jones earned WR MVP honors on Sunday.
