Rondle Johnson earned a spot in the Finals of the Rivals Quarterback
Challenge in Baltimore.
CEDAR HILL, Texas-- The Rivals Quarterback Challenge Presented by Under Armour rolled into the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex on Sunday, with Rondle Johnson edging out more than 85 of the region's top quarterbacks to win the
event.
Johnson, a class of 2016 dual-threat quarterback from Houston (Texas) Houston
Christian, earned an all-expenses paid trip to Baltimore for the
Rivals Quarterback Challenge Finals, an event that takes place
during the weekend of the Rivals Five-Star Challenge in June.
Sunday's event, which is part of the Rivals Camp Series Presented By
Under Armour, was the second of four Quarterback Challenges that
will take place this year. The first was held in Los Angeles in February, and
events will also be held in Atlanta (Mar. 22) and Cincinnati (April 25). Every
challenge includes a series of stationary target throwing stations, with players
accumulating points based on the number of targets they hit and the precision in
which they hit them. After the field competes at the different throwing
stations, seven finalists advance to a final round of throwing stations to
determine the winner.
The winner of each challenge automatically qualifies for the Rivals
Quarterback Challenge Finals along with 10 wild cards of the Rivals.com
staff's choosing.
