Rivals Camp Series: Dallas

at the Rivals Camp Series in Dallas.
CEDAR HILL, Texas -- The Rivals Camp Series
Presented by Under Armour stopped in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex on Sunday and brought in top talent from the Lone Star State as well
as Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma. Five-star offensive tackle
Gregory Little along with Rivals100 defensive tackles
Chris Daniels and Kendell Jones headlined a deep group of linemen at the
event, but talent could be found at positions all over the field.
The group of 177 prospects in attendance heard from Denver Broncos defensive
back Aqib Talib, a native of the Dallas area who attended Richardson
(Texas) Berkner High School, at the beginning of the camp. The message from the
two-time Pro Bowl selection was to not waste the opportunities presented by the
Rivals Camp Series.
"I just told them to compete," Talib said. "This stuff is new to me. I never had
a chance to do anything like this back in my day. I just told them to take
advantage of this camp, all these eyes out here, all these cameras. Take
advantage of it and compete."
Competition was the theme of the day, as several MVP awards came down to the
wire. The offensive and defensive lines were particularly loaded and produced
three of the five Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge invitations. While big names
like Little, Daniels and Jones showed up and performed up to expectations,
lesser-known prospects proved up to the challenge and even took home MVP awards.
Offensive line MVP Rowdy Frederick, for example, held just one offer
prior to winning Sunday's top award at his position.
"There's always room for improvement, but coming out here and winning MVP is
just a huge testament to the hard work I put in my junior season and
off-season," Frederick told SoonerScoop.com after the camp.
Dallas is usually one of the deeper camp venues on the Rivals Camp Series
schedule, and the 2015 version of the event certainly delivered.
