Posluszny commits to Notre Dame

After a visit on Wednesday, Rivals100 linebacker David Posluszny had made his decision. The 6-foot-0, 206-pounder selected the Irish over numerous offers from Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Louisville, Rutgers and more.
"I actually committed last night around six," he said. "That's when I talked to coach Weis and told him that I wanted to play for Notre Dame. He was just really excited that I committed."

Obviously the visit did a lot to sew up the pledge for Notre Dame. What was it about his trip that pushed the Irish over?
"Going into the visit I knew Notre Dame was one of my top picks," he said. "Walking around the campus, being around the team and coaches, I got a feeling that I knew where I wanted to go. I just felt very comfortable and belonged. I also talked to coach Weis, Polian, my recruiter Latina and Corwin Brown. Talking to those guys they made me feel real welcome and because of that comfort I decided to commit early.
"On top of all that, Notre Dame provides you an Ivy League education and a chance to compete every year for the national championship. I don't think there's another school that can match that."
Following the decision, the Keystone State linebacker was happy to have a decision behind him.
"I felt extremely relieved to have made the commitment, now I can focus on school and football," he said. "I just know in my heart, Notre Dame is the place for me."
Posluszny had a final note to spread to the Irish faithful.
"I'm just really excited to come up and play Notre Dame football."
Posluszny is considering making a trip up to South Bend for the Irish spring game on April 21st.
