Position recruiting ranking: Offense
Rivals.com has broken down how the teams did overall on National Signing Day, and now here's a look at which teams fared best, position-by-position, on offense.

Offensive Position Recruiting Rankings
QUARTERBACK
1. USC
The Trojans landed two quarterbacks who will probably compete for the starting job once Matt Barkley leaves. It could be a heated battle. Kessler put up huge numbers in his senior season and impressed at the Army game, but Wittek can't be counted out because he was really impressed at Under Armour.
2. OHIO STATE
Miller could be the quarterback of the future for the Buckeyes. He's the top-rated dual-threat quarterback nationally and has been a high priority for Ohio State for some time. Picking up Jones late was another good sign because the Glenville star has all the physical tools.
3. UCLA
Hundley has been called UCLA's savior. That might be a little overdone and it could put too much pressure on the four-star. He was really good in his senior season and has moved up the Rivals.com rankings. Getting Jerry Neuheisel, the coach's son, is a nice addition as well.
4. CLEMSON
The Tigers didn't land any four-star quarterback commits but three three-star pledges should be just fine. Stoudt is the highest-rated at No. 21 on the pro-style quarterback rankings and he will have a chance down the road to be a solid player.
5. LSU
It has been a long road back to the SEC for Mettenberger but he's finally landed in Baton Rouge and it could become a big deal. Remember, Cam Newton had to go the junior college route before leading Auburn to a national title. Some people think Mettenberger could be on a similar track.
RUNNING BACK
Wilder proved at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl that he can not only play running back but that he could also dominate the position. The Seminoles got two other standouts though in Freeman and Beverly. Freeman rushed for more than 2,200 yards and 26 touchdowns in his senior season.
2. TEXAS
Brown is the nation's top running back and he had a solid week at the Army game. He could be one of the pieces that solve Texas' offensive issues - he's that talented and developed that he could be a major contributor from Day One. Bergeron rushed for more than 1,900 yards as a senior.
3. CAL
Bigelow, a former Washington commit, has had two knee injuries so he might need some more time but getting Anderson, a junior college prospect, could be a great early addition. Anderson had a great season at Laney College in Oakland and knows the tradition of great backs at Cal. Lasco and Ervin are two other nice pieces.
4. UTAH
Langi was a big in-state pickup because Stanford and many other programs were after the 6-foot-1, 220-pound prospect who is exceptional at catching the ball out of the backfield. The Bingham standout has the skill necessary to be a big part of Utah's offense. White is a junior college back who is ready to play. Oliver gives added depth.
5. AUBURN
Auburn loaded up at running back even if it's with only two players. Bray is the fifth-best all-purpose back nationally and Mason is the No. 14 running back. Both have the potential to be stars for the Tigers and Rivals.com ranks them both in the top 200. Bray is higher at No. 109.
WIDE RECEIVER
1. (tie) CLEMSON
Clemson loaded up at wide receiver and did an outstanding job dipping into Florida and getting Watkins, a five-star who shined at the Army game. He has the playmaking ability to be a major contributor early on. Peake and Bryant are four-star signees who have lots of talent and can be nice additions to Clemson's offense.
1. (tie) USC
What a great haul for the Trojans led by Farmer, the nation's top receiver who backed up that ranking with a solid week at the Army game. He's the perfect fit in USC's offense and will be exciting to watch. Pomee is a big target who could be in the slot and cause mismatches for slower linebackers. Blackwell is a great addition on the outside and he catches everything thrown his way.
3. OREGON
Blackmon leads an impressive wide receiver class for the Ducks. His speed is outstanding and he had a solid week at the Under Armour game. Sumler is undersized but has all the speed in the world and Vaughn is another four-star addition. Kelley was close to earning his fourth star because he has great playmaking ability on the outside.
4. OLE MISS
What an outstanding group of receivers for the Rebels. Ole Miss landed the top five players in Mississippi by Rivals.com and that included Brassell, Moncrief and Singleton. If coach Houston Nutt is looking to reload at this position he did an outstanding job because all three are high-quality prospects who could get on the field early.
5. LSU
Landry is an outstanding prospect with great skill who should be an immediate impact player for the Tigers. He was outstanding at the Under Armour game and is just so fun to watch. Beckham had a surprisingly productive week at the Army game and has a knack for getting open. He catches everything, too.
TIGHT END
Adams and Owens, both huge targets, are top 20 tight ends and could be nice additions to South Carolina's class. Adams is the highest-rated at No. 17. Anderson is not far behind and is another big target.
2. (tie) AUBURN
Auburn has had lots of luck utilizing its tight ends and Fulse or Uzomah could be next in line. Fulse is the No. 10 tight end nationally and he had offers from pretty much the entire SEC. Uzomah also had an impressive offer list and played multiple positions in high school but tight end could be a great fit.
2. (tie) OHIO STATE
Vannett is a big pickup for the Buckeyes and his commitment stuck since last summer. His offer list was extensive and rightfully so. Heuerman can split out wide and do a lot of things. Even though he has great size, he's not slow and can be a mismatch problem.
4. (tie) IOWA
The Hawkeyes landed three tight ends in the class but none better than Hamilton, a four-star prospect, rated eighth at his position by Rivals.com. Hamilton had more than 900 yards and 11 touchdowns in his senior season. Duzey and Krieger-Coble add nice depth.
4. (tie) WISCONSIN
Traylor is the four-star prospect in this class and at 6-feet-4 and 210 pounds the Columbus (Ohio) Walnut Ridge can split out and do a lot of things in Wisconsin's offense. Maly and Arneson are two local standouts who will have their opportunities as well.
OFFENSIVE LINE
Florida State loaded up on the offensive line. Fahrenkrug, Hart and Matias are the three four-star prospects in this class.
The Seminoles did an outstanding job landing some of the state's top talent on the offensive line as well. Eight players in the class means FSU is rebuilding on the offensive line and this is a great start.
2. NEBRASKA
The Huskers got exactly what they wanted - big, tough, strong, physical offensive linemen that add to a great class. Moore was impressive at the Army game and along with him, Klachko, Reeves and Sterup are four-star prospects. It's a solid group with great long-term potential.
3. USC
USC loaded up at lots of positions and offensive line was definitely another one. Getting Walker from Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville was huge. Landing Hobbi, who also had Arizona State and UCLA high on his list, was important as well. Plus, landing a few junior college players rounded out a fantastic group.
4. AUBURN
The biggest get was Westerman, a longtime Texas pledge, who switched to the Tigers in the final weeks. He provides a ton of power at offensive tackle. The other three are no slouches though and all can contribute early in their career. A lot of people were impressed especially with Dismukes at the Under Armour game. Dismukes is the top center nationally and Robinson is the second-best guard.
5. LSU
Collins was being recruited hard by Auburn and others late in the recruiting process, and there were rumors about where he'd sign. But the longtime LSU commit stuck with the Tigers and it's a huge pickup. Rivals.com rates him as the second-best offensive tackle in the country and the top player in Louisiana. He's the big catch but the Tigers did a good job signing three other capable linemen as well.
