Porterie knows one school to visit

Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial quarterback Donovan Porterie continues to receive a lot of attention from schools as his senior season progresses.
“Tulsa has been calling me a lot,” the 6-foot-2, 188-pound Porterie said. “They have been sending me a lot of mail and calling. They are interested in me quite a bit. They are going to come watch me play in a game soon.”

The Golden Hurricane aren’t alone in the pursuit of the three-star rated signal caller.
“I am slso hearing from Kansas State, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana Tech, Syracuse, Iowa State, UTEP and Houston. They are all calling and sending me stuff.
“I still don’t have a favorite. I’m still looking at everything. I’m talking to my quarterback coach about it. We are looking at the depth charts at the schools and then try and narrow it down for where I will visit.”
One school has already made the cut for the official visits.
“I will visit Syracuse after our season. I’m looking at sometime in January. I just know that is a good place for a quarterback like me and they’ve been on me for a long time. They’ve invited me to come on a visit, but we haven’t picked a day yet.”
Porterie has helped guide his team into the district games and get rolling.
“We are doing real good in district play. We are 2-0 in the district games. I have three touchdown passes in those two games. Our team is coming together well at the right time. Hopefully we just keep it up.”
