Porterie adds another visit

Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial quarterback Donovan Porterie knew a while ago, he would visit Syracuse, but he has recently added another school to the list the he knows he will trip to.
“I am going to visit Iowa State and Syracuse when the time comes,” the 6-foot-2, 188-pound Porterie said. “I’ve been talking to the coaches at both of those schools quite a bit. I really think I will fit into their offenses well. They find a way to use a quarterback who can move around and make plays when things break down. That’s what I am.”

The addition of the Cyclones to the three-star rated signal caller’s list leaves just three spots to go on the visit schedule.
“I haven’t set any dates yet with either of them,” he said. “I know from my talks that I want to visit there, and I think I will be able to. They have both offered me scholarships, I just need to get the dates set.”
Porterie also continues to receive attention from Houston, Kansas State and Tulsa.
“I know Kansas State runs an offense with a quarterback that moves around too, like the others. It would be a good fit, I think. Houston is a team trying to get things going, and they look like they are. Tulsa had a good season last year and is trying to build off of that. I’m interested in them, too.”
Despite two schools high on his list, Porterie does not want to claim one school as the favorite at this time.
“I’m not really favoring one over the others,” he said. “I want to keep my options open and see what all is there for me as we move along. I’m going to try and take all of my visits before I make a decision.”
