Porch down to two

Calhoun (Ga.) Gordon Central athlete Dorian Porch is one of the most versatile athletes in the southeast. He has picked up several impressive offers this summer and may be nearing a decision.
“Right now I have offers from Kentucky, Wake Forest, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech,” Porch said. “I think Georgia is close to offering. I went to camp and I felt like I did real well. They had me working mostly at defensive back and I think they are recruiting me as a cornerback. I talked to coach (Mark) Richt when I was there and he said they would be keeping a close eye on me this season.”

Porch attended the NIKE camp in Atlanta in May where he measured in at 5-foot-10, 183 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds, ran the shuttle in 4.32 seconds and had a 33-inch vertical jump.
“It is pretty much down to Virginia Tech and Georgia,” Porch said. “Right now I would say that Virginia Tech is No. 1 because they have offered, but if Georgia offers it’s going to be hard to decide. I am going to wait for about three or four games this season and see what Georgia does then I am going to commit to Virginia Tech or Georgia.”
As a junior, Porch established himself as one of the top playmakers in his area. He was named first-team all-area for his skills at safety and second-team all-area as a quarterback.
“I have seen both Virginia Tech and Georgia this summer on unofficial visits,” Porch said. “I am going to take official visits to both of them early in the in the season and hopefully Georgia will also offer. If they do, it will be nice to have both of those options, it would just be a really tough decision.”
Porch is ranked as the No. 36 player in the state of Georgia by Rivals.com.
