Ponton to make pick today
Tampa Hillsborough two-star running back Ricky Ponton is back from South Florida. And it looks like it’s now time for the 5-foot-11, 195-pounder to make a decision.
“This visit made my decision easier,” he said. “In fact, I’m going to sit down here tonight and make my final choice. It’s been South Florida and Iowa State (December 12).”

Ponton said he had a great time on his visit to South Florida.
“It went really well,” he said. “I hung out with some of the players. They were all guys that I had either played with or against the past two years in high school, so that was really cool. We also went to Busch Gardens and we rode all the rides. I felt really at home.”
Ponton will not take a scheduled visit to Akron now and will have the final pick some time in the next 24 hours, he said.
