Defensive back Lovon Ponder is only looking at two schools, and he visited one of them this weekend.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety/cornerback from Miami (Fl.) Monsignor Pace took an official visit to Miami and liked what he saw.
"I had a real good time," said Ponder. "It was probably a little bit better than the trip to NC State, and Miami is above them, but not by much.
"We had so much good food down there," he laughed. "We toured the campus, checked out the academics and then walked along South Beach. We went down to the Orange Bowl and ran through the smoke, and that was cool. They gave us some time to rest, but there's so much to do you get tired after a while."
Does Ponder plan on visiting Oklahoma next week?
"No, I've eliminated Oklahoma," he said. "It's down to Miami and NC State, and since I've already visited both schools I just have a lot to think about. I believe somebody from Miami is coming by my house pretty soon, but I'm not sure if NC State will send anybody."
Ponder will wait until Signing Day to announce his decision.
