Pond may be ACC bound

One of the nation's top pro-style quarterbacks has five favorites and one offer. Is the ACC in Pond's future?
"My favorites are Virginia, Clemson, NC State, North Carolina and Auburn," said Pond. "Clemson has offered but the others are still recruiting me. Those five are all about even."

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound quarterback runs the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds. He's also a top baseball prospect, throwing 90 mile-per-hour heat as a pitcher and possessing good power with a bat. Pond has had a somewhat busy summer.
"I visited all five of my leaders at some point this summer. It wasn't for camps or anything like that. I went to several baseball showcases but no football camps. All the visits were really nice and I liked them about equally. It's pretty obvious that they're all good schools, so I expected them all to be good trips and they were."
As a junior for Chesapeake (Va.) Western Branch, Pond passed for 2,000 yards and 23 touchdowns. He wants to play baseball at the next level and has said he will factor that into his decision.
