Ponca Citys Johnson keeping cool

Ponca City (Okla.) all-purpose back Josh Johnson holds two offers from North Carolina and Iowa State - now he's looking for more.
Tulsa has been a school of recent discussion in the offer category in the Johnson household but the No. 11 rated player in Oklahoma is not going to play the guessing game.

"Well, I know that they talked about an offer and I think that they are," Johnson said. "It's early so I don't know. I'm going to head down there for camp next month and we'll see then."
Coaches, especially during the month of May, have had the opportunity to start the ball rolling on a quality relationship with the talented Johnson. One in particular has set themselves apart.
"I really like coach (Barney) Cotton from Iowa State," Johnson said. "I just really like the way he talks to me – he's real personable."
Last season Ponca City lost in the first round of the playoffs and the only other thing on the 5-foot-10, 204-pound Johnson's mind, other than recruiting, is getting farther this year.
"We've been working out everyday in the morning and then lifting in the afternoon," he said. "All we want is to get there again and possibly take state this time."
Johnson is set to decide after the football season, late this fall.
