Poly QB still working toward Pac 10 offer

Leon Jackson of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly leads one of the nation's top programs from his quarterback spot, but he is still disappointed that his sparkling record and solid stats have attracted an offer from the Pac 10.
But he’s hoping to change all of that with a strong run through the CIF playoffs.

“I’m still thinking a lot about the recruiting process,” he said. “I know that if I do well in the playoffs and help the team make a run to the title then I’m more likely to get a really good offer. And if I’m blessed, I might even get a Pac 10 offer. I’m not really concerned about that right now, because I know if I play well then it’ll all work out for me.”
And it likely will.
With an 8-1 record and more than 1,600 yards passing and 18 touchdowns, Jackson, who is 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, has continued to solidify his stock this season. He is currently getting calls on a regular basis from Washington, Oregon, Washington State, Cal and UCLA. He said those teams have hinted about offers but have not put anything down yet.
“I’m just sitting back and waiting to see what’s going to happen,” he said. “I’m more focused on my team right now. I want to help them win, just like they’ve helped me be successful this year.”
