Poly LB led Pac 5 in tackles

It is hard to imagine that the leading tackler of the very tough Pac 5 CIF Southern Section linebacker Demetrice Parks (6-2, 220, 4.7) from the legendary Long Beach (Calif.) Poly program is being somewhat overlooked on the recruiting trail.
Parks was all over the field his senior season to account for 152 tackles, seven sacks and one interception.

Nevada, San Diego State, Oregon and Idaho are the schools showing interest.
"San Diego State is the team that is recruiting me the hardest," Parks said. "I am supposed to be visiting San Diego State sometime in January."
"I talk to Nevada assistant coach Kim McCloud a lot," Parks said. "But we haven't set up a visit yet.
"I have to get back to coach Don Pellum (Oregon assistant coach) because two linebackers that they offered committed to other schools."
"My high school coach (Raul Lara) has told me there are a lot of colleges interested in me, but I haven't heard from them, yet," Parks said. "My senior film was just sent out so I'm expecting to get some calls."
As a junior, Parks earned second-team all-CIF and second-team all-league in one of the southern California's toughest conferences.
In ten games, Parks was a one-man wrecking crew racking up 103 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, five pass deflections, four sacks, four fumble recoveries and one interception.
Parks is also an outstanding student who carries a 3.7 GPA and has scored a 1330 SAT.
