Pollard ready for Thursday announcement

ARLINGTON, Texas - One of the few uncommitted prospects in attendance at this week's Offense-Defense Bowl is Westville (N.J.) West Debtford defensive tackle Jamil Pollard. Howevrr, the 6-foot-5, 280-pound four-star prospect does not plan to stay that way for long.
Despite the fact that he sat out Wednesday's practices with a slight shoulder injury and may not be able to play in Thursday's game Pollard is still looking forward to the contest since he plans to make his commitment known during the bowl game at Cowboy Stadium.

"I'm hoping to make my decision tomorrow," Pollard said on Wednesday morning. "I'm going to announce at the game."
Pollard says he has a pair of finalists with a third school still in the running as well.
"My finalists are Penn State and Boston College," he said. "I don't think Nebraska's offered me but if they do it would be Nebraska too."
Pollard says he has not informed the coaches at either school and, even more surprising, has not told his family to where he plans to announce his pledge.
"I haven't told the coaches at either school where I'm planning to commit to," he said. "I actually haven't even told my family. I sort of want it to be a surprise to everybody.
"I'm excited about it. My home town is really excited about my decision. They want to know where I'm going too. They won't know until it airs on Jan. 2."
Pollard has only taken one official visit so far but still plans to use some others despite Thursday's upcoming commitment.
"I've taken an official visit to Boston College so far and that's it," he said. "I'm still planning to take my other official visits though. I also have a Penn State official visit scheduled for Jan. 13. I'm hoping to take one in January as well to Nebraska. I haven't set it up yet though."
