Polk excited about decision

Portland (Ore.) Lincoln wide out Jordan Polk had been thinking of jumping on the offer from Washington that he has held for some time for awhile now. On Wednesday, the talented athlete ended the recruiting process and committed to the Huskies.
Polk, 5-8, 150 pounds is one of the fastest receivers in the region this year. He opened a lot of eyes at the NIKE combine in Dallas last spring when he clocked a 4.46-40 and jumped 39 inches in the vertical. When combined with his junior season numbers that saw Polk catch 40 balls for 1,435 yards and 16 touchdowns, there was no doubt the receiver was a legitimate Div I prospect.

"I committed to them last night," Polk said. "I just knew it was the best fit for me and I'm very excited to be a part of the Husky program. Washington really has everything I was looking for in a school and there was no need for me to put off the decision any longer.
"I was going to visit all three schools that offered me- Washington, Arizona and Portland State. I took an unofficial visit to UW last month when they played Boise State and just loved it there. I liked the facilities, the campus itself, the city of Seattle and have always gotten along well with the coaches.
"I think the program is on the right track and I'm excited to be a part of that. Coach Willingham is a great guy and he has things going in the right direction. Basically, ever since that visit, that's when I started to think Washington was the place for me.
"My mom came with me and she loved it there too. Academically, it's a good fit, I like the players on the team, I think Jake Locker is a great quarterback and I'm just excited to have my decision made right now. I think I can be a difference maker for Washington and be the kind of receiver that can stretch the field a little bit. It's going to be great and I know I made the right decision for me."
