Poljan recaps Nebraska visit

Lansing (Mich.) Catholic Central three-star athlete Tony Poljan returned from Nebraska on Sunday. It was his first official visit since de-committing from Minnesota last month.

"It was a great weekend," Poljan said of his Nebraska visit. "It definitely exceeded (expectations).
"I couldn't believe how big their facilities were, just how big their weight room was and all the science they have behind their weight program. They just went over the general presentation, but I thought it was really neat how they incorporated all the new technology into training."
An important part of an official visit is getting around the team and seeing how a player fits in the culture. Poljan left Lincoln feeling comfortable with the campus and the people around the program.
"Matt (Snyder) was my player-host and they were all really good guys," Poljan said. "It was a lot like Michigan from a topography standpoint with about the same weather and climate. The people at Nebraska were very welcoming and made me feel at home."
A 6-foot-6, 230-pound prospect, Poljan has played quarterback and defensive end throughout his prep career. Nebraska, though, sees him in a different role in their offense.
"They want me to play tight end," Poljan said. "I'm still working that in my mind and seeing what I want to do. They definitely throw to their tight ends a lot, so I am not going to rule it out."
Poljan's only other official visit was to Minnesota back in October. He still has three more potential official visits he could take before signing a letter of intent.
"I am definitely going to take all five of my official visits," Poljan said. "I don't know where yet, but Iowa State and Central Michigan are probably my next two official visits."
This past weekend gave Poljan more insight and familiarity with the Nebraska program, but he has not been able to conclude if that will be his ultimate destination.
"They are definitely up there on my list, but I think it is still too early to tell," he said.
