Polamalu hoping for strong start

Maika Polamalu has three offers to choose from but he's hoping that he has more options when the time comes to make a decision down the road.
With the summer basically behind him, his next -- and perhaps last -- opportunity to earn offers from schools will be in the coming weeks, as he and his teammates at Pottstown (Pa.) Pottsgrove play their first games of the 2010 season. Polamalu will then put together a highlight tape to send out to some of the schools that have not offered but are on his mind.

Navy, Temple and Villanova are the schools that have offered the three-star safety, though others are interested.
"Recently I've spent most of my time practicing and getting ready for the season," Polamalu said. "From here on out I'm just trying to go play those first two games, send out some film to schools, and then depending on what they do go from there.
"I know a lot of schools want to see me play defense more and that's what I'm going for this year, primarily. I'll be playnig safety."
Polamalu said he will be sending his film out to schools such as USC, UCLA, South Carolina, Pitt and Michigan.
"I don't have any favorites," he added. "I'm just waiting to see what happens."
Polamalu is ranked the No. 30 overall prospect in Pennsylvania from the Class of 2011.
