Pola-Mao hearing from several schools

Four-star athlete Isaiah Pola-Mao has a half dozen scholarship offers midway through his junior season and could be close to more.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect from Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe is one of the West region's top recruits in the 2017 class and caught the attention of coaches everywhere with impressive sophomore film. That has carried over into this season, as Pola-Mao was one of the headliners among a solid group of recruits that visited Arizona State last weekend for its big game against USC.

The local school isn't the only one courting the versatile prospect.
"All the attention early on feels really good, but I've got to stay humble and stay on the grind," Pola-Mao told Rivals.com. "Texas A&M has been recruiting me real hard, sending me personal letters and constantly staying in touch. They want me to get out there for a game. Notre Dame has been doing the same, and California and UCLA have also been on me hard.
"With A&M, I really like the way their offense is set up and the way they have been progressing as a program the last few years. I definitely want to go visit, but I have to sort through my busy schedule."
Pola-Mao hasn't been too active on the recruiting trail, opting instead to keep his head down and go through the process silently. He holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, Utah, Washington and Washington State, but hasn't been on any visits outside of Tempe.

"ASU was pretty cool," Pola-Mao said. "I know they got blown out, but that doesn't change anything for me. It actually was a plus knowing they need the help. I'm not trying to redshirt and want to play as a true freshman.
"My family, actually, has been pushing ASU a bit because they want me to stay home. But I'm sure if we lived in Texas, they would want me looking at the closest program there, too. I'm definitely looking for a family environment and that's what ASU brings. I've also been in contact with coach (Charlie) Ragle at Arizona and we've been thinking about a visit there. It's close but after Friday night games, it's hard to hit the road the next day."
Pola-Mao intends to continue through with the process and won't rush into a decision. In fact, it could be a while until that announcement is made.
"I want to keep an open mind, especially since I haven't seen some of the schools that are reaching out," Pola-Mao said. "I don't want to close out any schools. I want to announce a commitment at the last minute."
Through five weeks this season, Pola-Mao has 15 receptions for 233 yards and three touchdowns, and has been credited with 28 total tackles and two interceptions on the defensive side. He checks in at No. 158 overall in the Rivals250 rankings for the 2017 class.
