Orlando (Fla.) Freedom athlete James Poe took his second official visit of the season to Nebraska this weekend. The 6-foot-3, 219-pounder thoroughly enjoyed his trip to Lincoln. What did Poe like that he saw from the Cornhuskers?
"I liked my whole visit a lot including the fans, academics and everything else about it," he said. "They are building brand new sports facilities and I know if I go there they'll be all done. It's very nice from what I see and I really thought about the possibility of going there."
The three-star prospect arrived in Lincoln on Saturday morning.
"After I got there they showed me around the school and then I went to the Oklahoma game and afterwards I went into the locker room," he said. "I was also able to chill with fans and talk with the players. That night I went out with my host Daniel Bullocks. It was a lot of fun and he took me everywhere including to parties. He even told me if I come up here he'll help me as much as he can. Then today I did the academic stuff, met the strength coach and the athletic director."
What did Poe think of the Cornhuskers loss to the Sooners?
"They started off bad in the game, but then they started coming back and the defense did pretty well. They just couldn't make up enough in time and lost the game in the end," he said. "I liked the game a lot despite the loss and the fans were rowdy and they are on your side win or lose. The coaches were really nice and cool to hang out with too and I especially liked that they are honest and straight forward."
Overall the No. 43 athlete in the country rated his trip to Nebraska a seven.
