Plenty of unofficials coming up for OT Mattes

In the next few weeks, Concord (N.C.) Robinson offensive tackle R.J. Mattes will be taking a handful of visits to the ACC and SEC. Who is the 6-foot-7, 265-pounder planning to see?
"Over spring break I'm going to Clemson, I'll probably hit North Carolina State for a spring practice, South Carolina and Virginia," he said. "On April 21st I'm going down to the Nike Camp in Athens and check out the school a bit while I'm down there.

"On these visits coming up, I really want to go and see how the coaches coach and see the schemes they run. I want to know if I'll fit in with that."
Currently eight schools have offered the Carolina lineman. Is anyone leading at this time?
"My top three right now are Virginia, North Carolina and Clemson," he said. "I like Virginia because they were the first school to offer me and I've always liked them.
"Clemson is recruiting me the most and I've been impressed with what they are doing. Finally, I loved North Carolina's junior day and ever since I met Butch Davis they have been up on my list."
As a junior, Mattes earned all-conference, all-county and all-piedmont honors.
