Isaiah Rutherford was one of a handful of top 2019 recruits who visited Cal this past weekend and it was definitely a memorable trip to Berkeley.

It’s still early in his recruitment but the 2019 three-star standout from Carmichael (Calif.) Jesuit had a fantastic time on campus - and so did his family - as they met with coach Justin Wilcox and others.

“It went really good,” Rutherford said. “I met with the head coach and he’s a great guy. My family loved it as well.

“They said they wanted me to play corner. They’ve been recruiting me really hard.”

In recent days, Washington State and Tennessee have offered Rutherford. A huge offer from USC came in a few days ago and the Trojans have definitely captured his attention.

The Carmichael Jesuit standout has called it his “dream school” so that could carry some weight as his recruitment continues.

“That USC offer is what I was striving for and to get that was really motivating,” Rutherford said.

“And it was my dream school because it was an LA school and they have always been such a powerhouse in the Pac-12.”

So far, Rutherford has landed offers from Alabama, Cal, Colorado, Fresno State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, Tennessee, USC, Utah and Washington State.
