Pizza, Chicago get rave reviews from CB

Georgia might have a lot of things that Deante Battle of Fayetteville (Ga.) Starr’s Mill might enjoy, but Chicago definitely has the edge in something. That something was pizza.

And Chicago deep, dish style pizza was one of the highlights of Battle’s official visit to Northwestern this weekend.
“Man that was about as thick as about two slices down here,” Battle, a three-star cornerback that is 5-foot-10 and 187 pounds, said. “It was just all cheese and more cheese.”
While the pizza ruled, so did other things about his visit. Battle gave the visit a nine – but also admitted that he was a very tough grader.
“We went and did a tour of Chicago, then toured the campus and got to also eat in the stadium,” Battle said. “You also can’t beat the academics at Northwestern. That’s another great thing about it.”
So did Northwestern stack up to Colorado, which entered the weekend as his leader after a November 15 official visit to Boulder?
“It did,” he said. “There were some things about Colorado on the football field that I liked and there were some things about Northwestern off the field that I liked. I really don’t think I can say that I have a leader right now again.”
Battle said he was thinking about visiting Duke next weekend, but he isn’t sure about that because of the other schools still chasing after him.
Battle also has offers from N.C. State, Notre Dame, Texas, Virginia and Virginia Tech that he’s still considering.
