Pittsburgh LB makes his pick

Pittsburgh (Pa.) Penn Hill linebacker Aaron Williams took two official visits last month to Akron and Toledo. After thinking about his decision for a while, the 6-foot-0, 196-pounder has made a commitment to one of the programs.
"I committed to Akron last week," he said. "I have to say it was really close between Toledo and Akron, but I had to do what was best for me and my opportunity in football."

What in the end helped the Zips to his top spot?
"As far as the schools go, they were both the same," he stated. "The thing that it came down to for me was the fact that Toledo was almost too perfect for me. I thought if I went there I wouldn't get my work done and would just be having fun all the time.
"I can say that the coaches really stood out at Akron too. Coach Moorhead, my recruiter is from Penn Hills and he's a real coach. He's also the offensive coordinator and said he'd give me a shot to try running back. I also like J.D. Brookhart. He seems like a good guy that is really big on education."
The two-star prospect believes he'll get a chance to earn a spot immediately when he arrives in Akron.
"If I work hard I'll have a shot to earn time, but that's not a big issue for me," he said. "I'd be happy getting time on the scout team to see what I can do."
