Pittsburgh adds commitment No. 2

Just like last year Dave Wannstedt and the Pittsburgh Panthers are beginning to load up on local talent. The second commitment for the Panthers came today from Pittsburgh (Pa.) Perry cornerback Jared Williams. The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder felt that a connection with one of the coaches really helped seal the deal for him.
"I had been about a decision over with my family and it just seemed to be the right time to do it," he said. "I really like Pittsburgh's program and I have known the coaches there for a long time and like them a lot. I particularly liked coach Rhoads because he and coach Junko told me straight up that they want me to come there and play. They didn't sweet talk or lie to me.

"I also like spending time with coach Rhoads for camp. He worked out with me and in just the past two years made me a better player on the field helping me with my footwork, technique and jamming ability. I really respect that and want to continue to improve with him."
The Keystone State prospect is relieved to have a decision behind him.
"I feel real good about my decision and it's a big weight off my shoulders," he explained. "I don't see myself going back on my commitment. Now I can focus on the remainder of track season and football next year. I really want to work on getting a little bit faster and stronger before I get to Pittsburgh."
Williams had one final note to say to Panther fans.
"Go Pitt!"
