Pittman could be close again

Michael Pittman recently backed off his UCLA pledge and the four-star prospect could be ready to make another big decision.
The Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian standout is taking an unofficial visit to Oregon this weekend and if things go well then Pittman could make a commitment to the Ducks.

There is no question Oregon has clearly emerged as the frontrunner in his recruitment.
"I like the coaches, I like the recruiting class that's going in, I feel like we're pretty close and I want to win a national championship," Pittman said. "They said they're fighting on both sides but I'm thinking I'd go in there and play receiver.
"Pretty much, if things go well, (I will commit) because we have a long history with them. My dad knows Scott Frost and so we're kind of close up there."
Pittman, who could also play outside linebacker, had been committed to the Bruins for months but decided to open it up recently. He kept things quiet even to those close to him but said he doesn't feel comfortable publicizing things in his recruitment.
"I've been just looking at other places and I've been talking to my dad about it," Pittman said.
"I haven't even told too many people. I actually didn't even tell my coach before I did it which was probably a mistake but I'm more of a guy that doesn't like to publicize things like I'm showing off. I like to keep it to myself.
"I just wanted to open it up. UCLA definitely has a good program. People think that I don't like them now which is false. I just wanted to open it up completely."
In his junior season, Pittman finished with 47 receptions for 914 yards and 12 touchdowns. The four-star had been committed to UCLA since early October.
