Pittman anxious for USC coaching clarity

Michael Pittman closed out his senior season with a monster performance last week and now appears set to turn his attention to recruiting.
The four-star wide receiver from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian has already signed mid-year enrollment paperwork with USC but given the uncertainty with the coaching staff, he said he is antsy to figure out what the Trojans will do following the season.

Clay Helton has gone 4-2 as the interim coach after taking over for Steve Sarkisian, and Pittman hopes Helton at least remains on staff. That could definitely hinge on the Trojans' next few games as they still have an opportunity to clinch a berth to the Pac-12 Championship with a victory against UCLA, the other program Pittman is staying in contact with.
Pittman had over 300 receiving yards and five touchdowns Friday but Oaks fell to Bishop Amat.

IN HIS WORDS: "I'm a hard USC commit until the staff changes, and then I might re-think a little bit," Pittman said. "I'm anxious because I want coach Helton to stay the coach and I like the staff they have now. With him as interim coach and everything going on, he has pulled the team together and rallied them.
"(Visiting UCLA) is a possibility, but right now I'm not really thinking about that. I'm looking to stay in California and other schools know that. Ohio State and Clemson wanted me to visit their campus, but I'm not going to do that."
WHAT'S NEXT?: The 6-foot-4, 205-pound wideout started playing offense two years ago and admitted he "wasn't very good," so his transformation into perhaps the top receiver in the state has been striking. There were questions about his future position but there is no doubt that Pittman can make an impact on the offensive side of the ball at the next level. Pittman was originally scheduled to officially visit the Trojans this coming weekend for the crosstown showdown with UCLA, but told Rivals.com he has pushed back that date to December since the coaches want him on campus then.
