Pitt, UNC, MD interested in QB

Rob Agnone has played quarterback most of his life, but led his team in receptions, yards and touchdowns at wide receiver last year. Teams were interested him as a wideout, but Agnone will move back to quarterback this year. Some of the schools showing lots of interested earlier are holding off on offering until they see him perform well in his new role.
"I was getting a ton of letters when schools figured I would be a receiver or a safety at the next level," said the 6-foot-5, 220 pound passer from Etters (Pa.) Red Land. "Schools are now telling me they want to see my first three or four games at quarterback before they offer me or make any promises.

"I have a strong arm and I know I can play the position. It's just a matter of actually doing it on the field after playing other positions for a while."
Recruiting has slowed for Agnone, but he still hears from schools like North Carolina and Pitt.
"Pitt, North Carolina and Maryland are the bigger schools that are still sending me mail and seem to be recruiting me. I visited those schools plus Hofstra, Delaware, Virginia and West Virginia this summer. Maryland and North Carolina had the best campuses and great facilities, but Pitt's facilities blew me away."
Agnone said the biggest factors in his decision will be the location of the college, the coaching philosophy and the style of offense he can play in. He led his team in catches (49), yards and touchdowns (10) last year as a receiver.
