Pitt TE commit Bowers updates status

Many were caught off guard when tight end Nick Bowers committed to Pittsburgh early in the process. The Kittanning (Pa.) Kittanning Senior star remains unwavering in his commitment to the Panthers despite a recent visit to Penn State.
"The visit to Penn State was good," said the 6-foot-4, 244-pound Bowers. "I had an opportunity to go visit and I took it. The coaches said they aren't sure if they were going to offer a tight end because they have limited scholarships. They already have a lot of tight ends on the roster too."

As of now Bowers remains a Pitt Panther and classifies his commitment status as "strong."
"Things are going very good with Pitt," he said. "I was at Pitt for their first spring practice. I like the way they use their tight ends and they way they run their offense."
Other schools seem to be gauging Bowers' interest in looking around but it does not sound like he has any interest in doing so.
"I get lots of letters but none of them really say much," he said. "I don't have any other visits planned."
Bowers competed in last weekend's Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour in Columbus.
