Pitt picks up in-state LB

Monessen, Pa. fullback/linebacker Ernest Williams announced his college decision over the weekend. Where does the 6-foot-2, 245-pound prospect plan on spending his college years?
"I'm going to Pitt," said Williams. "I really liked all three of the schools I was looking at -- Pitt, Akron and West Virginia. I could have been happy at any of those three schools. My mom really loved Pitt and was excited that I would be able to go to school around a lot of family. They'll be able to see me play and visit with me a lot."

Before committing to Pitt, Williams had received offers from schools like Iowa, West Virginia and Indiana, among others. How does he see himself fitting in with the new Panther coaching staff?
"I hope I can go in and try to get some playing time early. I'm not expecting to go in and just ride the bench," he laughed. "I'm not exactly sure what I'll be playing or when I'll be playing it, but I feel like I can go in and compete for some time."
Williams is a three-star prospect and rated the No. 8 fullback in the nation. He's also ranked as the No. 15 overall prospect in the Keystone State.
