Pitt lands Ohio DB Jones

Columbus (Ohio) Brookhaven cornerback Dominic Jones has committed to Pitt, giving Panther coach Walt Harris and recruiting coordinator Bryan Deal the good news on Sunday night.
"I committed to Pitt," Jones said. "I talked to coach Harris and coach Deal last night."

"First and foremost it was because of the education."
"Second was the opportunity to play was so great."
"The facilities are nice. The coaches are great. It's only two hours away. And I like the city. I'm a city kid."
"Michigan was my second choice. They had been talking about an offer."
"Penn State, Minnesota, most of the MAC schools, Michigan State, those are some of the schools that offered."
"I'll be a cornerback and a special teams player."
The 5-foot-8 and 177 pound Jones intercepted 11 passes and took three of them back for touchdowns. Jones, a varsity starter since his freshman year, intercepted four passes that season as well as one his sophomore year.
