Pitt grabs another commitment

Fresh of the commitment of superstar quarterback Anthony Morelli, the Pitt Panthers have secured an offensive lineman to protect him.
"I committed to Pitt last night," said 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive lineman Dave Weber. "I really felt good about the whole situation and everything clicked for me. I loved it there on Junior Day in April and I wanted to make a decision before the season started."

Wbere, who also had offers from Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Rutgers and Syracuse, called assistant coach Curtis Bray Saturday night to commit.
"He was pretty excited," said Weber. "I'm glad it's over. Pitt had the best of everything to offer me."
Weber wasn't sure if he'd play offensive tackle of guard.
"As long as I get on the field," he laughed. "I don't care."
And did Morelli's commitment lead to Weber's?
"It didn't hurt."
Weber was a first team AAA All-state selection by the Pennsylvania Football News as a junior. The Philadelphia Inquirer named him to their first team All-Southeastern Pennsylvania Team.
