Pitt gets Jersey WR commitment

The Pitt Panthers are known for producing top wide receivers. They just received a commitment from a player who could be the next in line.
Teaneck, N.J. wideout Oderick Turner committed to Pitt late last week and has all the intangibles -- size, speed, hands -- to be a very good one at Pitt.

"I took my official visit during the week from Tuesday to Wednesday last week and committed on Thursday," said the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder. "I felt really comfortable there and I like they way they throw the ball around. The coaches were very nice."
The talented wideout chose Pitt over offers from NC State, Syracuse, Wisconsin and Indiana. Turner got to see his new team in action on television this past weekend as they beat up on his home state school.
"I caught the second half anyhow," he said. "I like the offense and they play young wide receivers so I can have a chance to compete early."
Turner estimates he has 25 catches for 250 yards and three scores on offense this year. On defense he has one interception.
"They don't throw the ball at me," he laughed. "Defense has become boring."
