Pitt gets big commitment

Needless to say, it's been a great week for Pittsburgh football. Less than a week after winning a share of the Big East championship, the Panthers picked up a commitment from one of the top wide receivers in the state.
Tommie Campbell, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound wideout from Aliquippa, Pa. committed to Pitt on Tuesday, turning down offers from schools like UConn, Cincinnati and Eastern Michigan.

"Basically it came down to the location," said Campbell. "It's close to home, and I think it will be a real solid fit for me. I like the coaching staff and they've got a real stable program."
How does Pitt plan on using Campbell's rare combination of size and speed?
"I think they're going to start me out at safety, but once we get into camp I have a feeling I'll get some time at receiver. My size is what a lot of coaches are looking for in receivers these days, so that will help me out a lot. I'm not exactly sure what position I'll end up at yet though."
On the season Campbell caught 26 passes for more than 500 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also returned an interception for a touchdown and brought a punt back 99 yards for a score -- the longest return for a touchdown in school history.
