Pinckney picks Cincinnati

Sylvania (Ohio) Southview three-star athlete JayJay Pinckney saw several twists and turns in his recruitment, but on Friday he ended the process by committing to an in-state program.
"I committed to Cincinnati today," Pinckney said. "It's a lot of weight off my shoulders. I can finally say where my future lies, which is a really good thing. I am just really excited for the future endeavors I have at Cincinnati."

After making the decision, Pinckney placed a call to Cincinnati assistant coach Steve Clinkscale to make the commitment.
"He was fired up, as we were too at the school," Pinckney said. "We're just really excited to get things rolling."
When it came down to looking at where to attend college, being close to home was a plus for the Bearcats.
"I have a lot of friends and family that live in the southern part of Ohio," Pinckney said. "Geographically it is good for everybody and I want everybody to have a chance to see me play. One of my good friends I have been going to school with since the fourth grade, Ryan Stout, is also committed there."
The 6-foot-3, 172-pound Pinckney is listed as an athlete prospect because he could project on either offense or defense.
"I am just going to go there as an athlete and they are going to fluctuate me between safety, corner and wide receiver - just the best place I can help the team," Pinckney said.
Pinckney has yet to take his official visit to Cincinnati, but plans to set it up for a weekend in January.
