Picou one of the best in the West

There is no question that offensive lineman Rodney Picou (6-4, 300, 5.1) from Moreno Valley (Calif.) Canyon Springs is one of the best offensive trenchmen in the state. He plays tackle on the high school level, but he could end up being guard when he hits the D-I stage.
As a junior, Picou was selected first-team all-CIF and first-team all-league.

Colleges that have shown interest in Picou include USC, UCLA, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona State and Florida State.
Picou benches 325, and squats 490. He has recorded a 25-inch vertical and ran the pro shuttle in 4.9. He had also benched 225 pounds, 15 times at a recent combine.
Picou doesn’t have any offers just yet and has some work to do in the classroom. If his academic house was in order he would have several offers.
Like many youngsters, Picou admittedly didn’t take school seriously as a frosh and is now getting busy catching up for lost time. Picou will take summer school courses and that should get Picou’s grades in order. If his grades do improve and he does get qualified look for a flood of offers to come Picou’s way. He will be able to name his school.
In every camp that Picou has attended he has shined and impressed.
Picou is a dominating run blocker and the majority of his team’s running game is run behind him.
Does Picou have a favorite?
“I like USC because it is close to home and my Mom won’t have to fly out to see me play,” Picou said. “You can also get a great education there.”
