Pickett with offers

Fred Pickett is another offer from south Florida with scholarship offers. Pickett, 5-11 and 162, has scholarship offers from Florida International, West Virginia, Florida State and Illinois State.

"FSU, West Virginia and FIU all offered me after the spring game last year," Pickett said. "Right now I am pretty open."

Pickett has had time to visit a few schools this spring. He just got back from Gainesville.

"I went to Florida this past weekend and I now I will try and get to West Virginia. I have also seen FSU, Georgia, LSU and UCF. I am trying to get everywhere. I am looking for tradition, looking at the coaching staffs and looking at schools that put players in NFL. I want to graduate and will look at grad rates."

Pickett is from Pahokee (Fla.) High School. Like some many others before him at Pahokee, he's a talent.

"I can go get the ball. I am quick, fast and can jump. I need to work on getting bigger, stronger, and always faster."
