Pickett to trim list, reach decision

Adarius Pickett should be ready within the next few weeks to narrow his list and the four-star cornerback is planning to make a significant trim.
"I'll probably narrow my list to six or seven sometime before the season," Pickett said. "I'm thinking right before the season starts I'll cut it down."

The El Cerrito, Calif., prospect who looked good at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge in Chicago this summer said three Pac-12 schools will surely make his list and then he's not sure of the others.
Pickett, rated as the ninth-best cornerback and the No. 122 prospect in the 2014 class by Rivals.com, also plans to make his commitment after some official visits early in his senior season.
"USC, UCLA, Cal are for sure," Pickett said. "I'll probably do something like that and I don't know who else.
"I think I'm going to take two or three official visits and then I'm going to commit after my first four games of my season."
El Cerrito teammate Derik Calhoun recently committed to USC and Jalen Harvey is a Cal pledge so Pickett has close friends pulling him both ways. UCLA has also heavily recruited Pickett over the last few months.
Pickett's relationship with Calhoun could play the biggest factor but the four-star said he's going to consider all options and make his own pick.
"DJ with him going to SC he's talked to me about it but at the end of the day I'm going to make my own decision and pick the school that's best for me," Pickett said.
