Pickett is starting to take visits

A couple weeks back Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell athlete Justus Pickett took his first official visit. The 5-foot-11, 183-pounder has set his second official for early January to one SEC school.
"I took my first official a few weeks back to Wake Forest," he said. "I definitely loved the campus and the school. It's a small school, but in a way it's a good thing. I know they are dedicated to running the ball at Wake Forest and from my understanding they need backs there. It's good, they run the spread offense, my high schools runs that too."

The trip was only the three-star prospect's second visit to Winston-Salem.
"I met a couple of the coaches and saw the facilities," he said. "I hung out with Coach Lambert. I definitely love him, it's a great feeling talking to him and they are very family-oriented, that's something my family likes about it. They love the whole coaching staff."
Next up for Pickett is a trip to Kentucky.
"I'm going to Kentucky I think on January 7th," he said. "I think I'll go to Maryland too, I've got to get that finalized.
"Last time I talked to Maryland was about a week or so ago. I definitely like them and they they are a good fit still."
As for Kentucky, they haven't pulled the trigger yet on an offer.
"They are in the process of doing it, they left school last week and I should be hearing from them soon."
Meanwhile, Pickett participated in the Shrine Bowl on Saturday.
"It went well," he said. "I was the leading rusher and receiver for my team with 28 yards on two catches and 38-yards on six runs.
"I think I definitely showed I'm a pretty good back. I showed I was versatile and can be used in the passing game."
