Pickens pulls the trigger

In a move we expected to happen a few weeks ago, Chino (Calif.) Don Lugo wide out A.J. Pickens ended the recruiting process and said he'l be playing his college ball at Arizona State.
"I just committed about 30 minutes ago," Pickens said. "My whole family was over at the house and we all were talking about it and my dad just told me, 'if you know what you want to do, go ahead and do it.' For me, that was ASU so I went ahead and committed.

"Coach Lubbick was the one that was recruiting me so I called him and gave him the news. He was pretty excited and I'm pretty hyped right now as well. I wanted to do it before Christmas but I wanted to be 100% sure of my choice and not rush in to anything.
"ASU has been my leader ever since I visited. I kind of always knew that's where I would end up, but like I said, this is a big decision and not something I wanted to make until I knew for sure. Now, I have no doubts and I'm very excited to be a Sun Devil."
In addition to ASU, Pickens also visited Oregon State, Fresno State, Oregon and Washington.
"I liked all the schools I visited, I just felt ASU had the most to offer," Pickens said. "I love the coaches, the offense, the direction the program is going in and just how comfortable I was on the campus. Tempe is a cool place and I think Coach Erickson is a great coach and I'm looking forward to playing for him."
