Pickens getting closer

The last time we spoke with Chino (Calif.) Don Lugo athlete A.J. Pickens, he had just finished his 5th and final visit and said he planned to make his college choice before Christmas. Well, it's now a few days after Christmas and the talented receiver said he's still not quite there yet.
Pickens, 5-11, 165 pounds took official visits to Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Oregon State and Fresno State. His final trip was to Corvallis (Dec. 14) and with two weeks to spare, it appeared Pickens would have no problem having his college choice made before the break.

"I'm close but this is harder than I thought," Pickens said. "I'm still trying to figure things out but right now, I have four of the schools still on my list. I'm not looking at Washington any more but the other four are still there.
"I may try and get it down to two and then weigh the pros and cons between those two schools. Arizona State is still my leader and they will be one of the two for sure. After that, I'm just not sure, the others are all pretty equal.
"I'm going to the Holiday Bowl tonight to watch ASU play Texas and I'm really excited about that. You know if things go well, there is a chance I could decide to just go ahead and commit to ASU after the game, I don't know, we'll have to see how it goes. If not, it will probably be sometime in the next week."
