Phone ringing a lot for Texas DT

Garland (Texas) Lakeview Centennial defensive tackle James McClinton has taken several phone calls this month.
“I have had lots of schools calling,” the 6-foot-1, 289-pound McClinton said. “It has been a pretty busy month around here.”

The schools calling include Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor, Arizona State, Arizona, Iowa, Iowa State and SMU.
“I have enjoyed all the calls I’ve gotten,” he said. “My two favorite schools right now are Kansas and Kansas State. There are several others that are close to them, but those two stick out the most right now.
“Kansas State is always winning games and they’ve been recruiting me for a while. And Kansas has been working real hard on me with letters and calls.”
Lakeview Centennial is 3-1 on the season.
“We are doing alright,” McClinton said. “But, we lost our first game of district play to North Garland. We made way too many mistakes and I kept cramping up and wasn’t able to play.”
McClinton was able take in one college game this year so far.
“I went to the SMU-Oklahoma State game,” he said. “It was quite an offensive display by OSU that day. They just kept throwing it and scoring.”
