Phoebus FB close to receiving a MD offer
Maryland already picked up a commitment from Hampton (Va.) Phoebus offensive tackle Maurice Hampton recently. The Terrapins may be looking to add one more player from Phoebus before Signing Day according to head coach Bill Dee in fullback Haroon Brown.
"Haroon visited Maryland last weekend for an official visit," Dee said. "He's seriously considering them at this time. We're kind of waiting to see what they are going to do. They haven't offered yet, but I do think they really like him and they are showing a lot of interest.

"I think it's just a matter of waiting it out until they'll possibly offer. I do believe if they do come through with an offer he'll accept. If that doesn't happen, he's looking at a bunch of Division I-AA schools."
Meanwhile, Brown's teammate running back Dennis Mathis is close to a decision.
"Right now he's deciding between James Madison and Hampton University," he said. "I don't think he's favoring one or the other."
