THE LATEST: Teriq’ Phillips' offer count stands at five. Not bad for a prospect that saw limited playing time on one of America’s best high school football teams a year ago. There are likely more offers to come for the Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas prospect. It’s why he’s not rushing to form many strong opinions on the schools already in the fray.

Fresno State, Temple, Missouri and NC State have all offered Phillips a scholarship. Phillips, however, is waiting for his options to expand before he does much digging.

An early leader? Nope, not here. Not even close.

“I haven’t really thought about it too much yet, I guess,” Phillips said. They’re all pretty much equal.”

Instead, Phillips would rather discuss the schools he hopes join his recruitment soon. On that front, he has some colleges in mind. He rattles them off quickly.

“Probably Louisville,” Phillips said when asked which programs he hopes will offer. “Louisville and Michigan State I like Michigan State. I like the way they throw the ball. I like Clemson, too. But Clemson is a big step. I’m gonna be working for that.”

IN HIS WORDS: “I haven’t really looked into any of [my offers] really. I seriously don’t know much about any school that already offered,”

RIVALS REACTION: Who knows what will happen here? Phillips says Clemson is his “dream school”, but there’s no sign of an offer in his future. The fact that the upcoming season will be Phillips’ first as a starter on the high school level adds to the unpredictability of his recruitment. His story could go in any number od directions.
